8K Palliative: “…Cash Transfer For me, In My Opinion, Is A Scam”. Governor, Uba Sani Reveals

It is no news that the federal government headed by President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a proposal to transfer N8,000 to 12 million Nigerian for six months, this is to support them due to the effect of fuel Subsidy removal in the country .
On Friday night, 21st July, 2023, the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, while in an interview with Arise Television News referred to proposed cash transfer policy by the Federal Government, as a scam and medium to aid their embezzlement of the fund.
According to Uba Sani his criticism is hinged on inaccurate database of the intended beneficiaries.
He further butressed his point by stating that main intended beneficiaries don’t have bank accounts and urged the federal government to ensure that the fund doesn’t go into the wrong pockets.
Some of his words reads;
“My opinion has always been that, at this critical time, cash transfer should not be something that we should bring up. I think that cash transfer for me, in my opinion, is a scam. Completely it’s a scam. I can be very certain about that, because who are you transferring the money to?
“About 70 to 75 per cent of the rural population in North West are financially excluded completely. You will have to go and check, these people we are talking about are important people in the society. They do not even have a bank account so who are you transferring the money to?”
“Let’s put more money to ensure that we open accounts for them, get them involved, if we don’t do that, no matter what we do however you do it, money will go to the wrong people, that’s the fact,” he said.
