Abike Dabiri And Oby Ezekwesili Fight Dirty On Twitter Over Abike’s Image Tarnishing Claim About Nigerians
Abike Dabiri, the chairman for Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has come under intense criticism by Nigerians online over her undiplomatic response to a derogatory remark about her by one Twitter user who described her as “mumu” and for her supporting current underperforming Nigerian leadership.
“She should go to Indonesia and see how Nigerians are treated. Mumu woman supporting a failed government. She’s equally part of the failure. Eye service!”The Twitter user tweeted.
In her response, Abike Dabiri described the Twitter user as “ode” who travels to Indonesia to engage in unlawful activities while expecting the intervention of the Nigerian government especially when the criminal act is punishable by death sentence. She further commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for its intensified effort in curbing drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria.
“Ode! You go to Indonesia, carry drugs, do cultism and come begging to be rescued from death sentence . Thank God for @ndlea_nigeria now saving people like you from death row”, Abike Dabiri’s response.
Her response was thereafter adjudged undiplomatic and has attracted varying reactions from Nigerians including that of minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili who appealed to Abike Dabiri to take down her tweet. However, Abike Dabiri immediately shunned Oby Ezekwesili and noted that she will no longer tolerate such an unruly behaviour from young Nigerians online.
“Dear Abike @abikedabiri , What is this? 🤦🏾♀️. Kai. This is messy. Please clean it up. Quickly. Please.✍🏾”, Oby Ezekwesili ‘s appeal.
“I’m done on this . But out of respect for you , will ask, Clean what up? It’s okay for some untrained, uncouth guy to refer to me as “ mumu”, and I can’t call him “ ode”I’m not a public official that cows to bullying pls”, Abike’s response.
