APC Governorship Candidate In Bayelsa Timipre Sylva Insultingly Compares Good luck Jonathan To Hippopotamus
The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded November 11th Bayelsa state governorship election, Timipre Sylva has tongue-lashed former president Good luck Ebele Jonathan over his recent remark about the outcome of the governorship election.
Former president Good luck Ebele Jonathan was quoted by the media to have said that he would have relocated his mother to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja had the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate and incumbent governor of Bayelsa, Douye Diri lost his reelection bid to the APC.
Speaking through his X handle, Timipre Sylva described Good luck Ebele Jonathan’s purported statement as unfortunate. He thereafter alluded an aphorism by professor Wole Soyinka to attribute filthiness and corruption to the former president.
Timipre Sylva wrote: “Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s statement is unfortunate. I sincerely hope he was misquoted. Let me just quote our respected Wole Soyinka: “you can take the hippopotamus out of the swamp but you cannot take the swamp out of the hippopotamus”.
