Atiku And Wike’s Cold War Takes Another Twist As Wike Takes Atiku To Court

The ongoing cold war between the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike seems not to be ending soon.

Wike who has in recent time made some unsavoury statements about the PDP’s national leadership and the party’s presidential candidate, is understood to be harbouring grievances against the party members over his alleged mistreatment by them.

Despite having a reconciliatory meeting in which Wike reportedly outlined his conditions for working for the presidential ambition of Atiku; condition which includes the immediate resignation of the PDP’s national chairman, Ayu Iyorchia over his bias against him and for working against his emergence as Atiku’s running mate.

Interestingly, the People’s Gazette reports that Wike has filed a legal suit against Atiku Abubakar over the PDP’s presidential primary election.

Wike filed the lawsuit in conjunction with a member of PDP, Michael Ekamon at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court. Those joined also in the lawsuit are the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to report, the parties in the lawsuit were served on the 1st of July while an unnamed member of PDP responded to the originating summon on August 5th.
