“Bola Tinubu Has Only Transfered $2000 To Me”, Pat Utomi Explains Amid Claim Of Tinubu Funding Obidatti Presidential Campaign

Amid the raging unfounded speculations that now Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu funded the presidential campaign of youth-backed presidential candidate, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) as a means of preventing the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from winning the presidential election, Peter Obi’s staunch ally, Pat Utomi has further discredited the speculation.

According to claim by a member of the Labour Party (LP) and LP ex- governorship candidate in Ondo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided funds to the Obidatti presidential campaign council through Pat Utomi whom he described as Bola Tinubu’s “son”.

Pat Utomi had described the controversy as unworthy of his response: “I am thankful that in the end truth is the only thing that prevails when lust for power is consumed by its own negativity. So I ignore,” he wrote.

However, the popular economist has now in clear terms, reacted to the allegation. Through his Twitter handle, Pat Utomi stated that he has neither directly nor indirectly  related with Bola Ahmed Tinubu for four years. He added that the only monetary transaction he had with Bola Ahmed Tinubu was 25 years ago when Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a $2000 transfer to him for an event organization.

“Some fellow pulling up a 9 year old video from an Ileya visit claimed the know of conduit of money through me to PO to uend Atiku. 1st, have had no direct or indirect contact with BAT in 4 years. Only material transfer from BAT to me in 25yrs we have known is $2000 for MIT event”, he tweeted
