Borno: Ten Nabbed For Allegedly Stabbing A Police Officer To Death

A Police constable identified as, Babagana Mala, has been stabbed to death in Maiduguri, Borno State by some hoodlums along artillery area, Maiduguri, on Sunday, 23rd July.

According report, the deceased who was deployed to Malari, Konduga L.G.A, had a disagreement with some hoodlums identified as, Usman Audu, male, Hauwa Usman, female, Aisha Musa, (female), Abba Bala, (male), Sunday Garba, (male) David Paul, (male), Mohammed Abubakar, (male), Jude Eze, (male), Amaechi Abdulsalam Afochibe, (male) and Nduibuse Nnaji, (male).

The disagreement metaphorsed to altercation and triggered them to stab the deceased victim.

The police received a distress call and their police patrol team rescued the victim and rushed him to Maiduguri specialist hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, 25th July, While parading the Suspects, the state commissioner of police, Mohammed Yusufu, revealed that they were able to apprehend the Suspects after watching a video clip of the incident which they got from an eyewitness.

His statement reads;

“We understand there was an altercation between the hoodlums and the constable before he was stabbed,”

“On receipt of a distress call from the area, the police patrol team responded and rescued the victim to Maiduguri specialist hospital for treatment where he was later certified dead. 

“Police undercover operatives obtained a video clip of the incident from a Good Samaritan which led to the arrest of the suspects,”

” Proper investigation would be conducted before the suspects are charged to court” he said.
