Burna Boy Narrates His Travail In UK Prison, Reveals His Crimes

Iconic Nigerian hip hop singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy, shared his experience in U.K prison before he ventured into music making.

In a tweet the Grammy Award winner made and deleted a few minutes after, he reacted to criticisms he often got especially from his Nigerian fans who accuse him of lacking manners, being derogatory and disrespectful. The singer claimed in the tweet that he did worst things before which incessantly earned him imprisonment.

He further expressed gratitude for the progression of his music career, noting that it inadvertently saved him from troubles and that he never knew he would live as long as he has.

“I came into the music industry straight from UK Prison (Chelmsford HMP) I had no idea I would even live this long. If you knew just half of the sh*t I used to do for money, risking my freedom daily, you would be way happier for me”.

Burna Boy further revealed that he is not interested in being the greatest Nigerian hip hop artiste as many describe him as. He explained that he is happy that he earns from what he loves doing.

“Nigeria really doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist. I’m just happy I can do what I love and take care of my people from it. So when people talk about me now, it’s all just funny”
