Davido Speaks On Peter Obi’s Loss At The Presidential Petition Tribunal
Yesterday, September 6th, the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) squashed all the petitions against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kashim Shetima and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Hence, in its ruling, the five man tribunal, validated the presidential victory of president Bola Ahmed at the expense of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The tribunal dismissing all the petitions challenging Tinubu’s presidential victory, comes as a surprise to many Nigerians. Popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke better known as Davido a few hours after the PEPT’s ruling, took to his Twitter to react to the judgement passed on Atiku and Peter Obi’s petitions
He stated that Nigeria’s elections are not for the faint-hearted but for those who are vastly “rugged” than others.
Davido is understood to be pointing at the events that characterized the Nigeria’s presidential election which produced Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Local and international observers in their various reports, noted that the election was flawed by voter’s apathy, voter’s suppression, intimidation and harassment.
