Delta: Teacher D!es After Being Beaten By Pupil’s Father

Hours after a teacher, Sunday Ufah, was confirmed dead after being attacked by a pupil’s father identified as, Uweke, at Alihame Mixed Secondary School, Agbor, Delta State, on Wednesday, leading to his death.

On Thursday, 19th October, the Ika South chapter of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Delta State, took to the environ to protest the death of their colleague, after being attacked by the Pupil’s Father in the school compound.

It was revealed that the pupil involved, in collaboration with others, went into a man’s farm and drank his palm wine.

The owner of the farm reported the issue to the school management, and that led to the punishment of the Pupils involve in the act.

After Being disciplined, one of the Pupil went home, and reported the incident to his Father. The father stormed the school compound with cane, which he used to hit the teacher.

The teacher became unconscious during the scuffle, and he was quickly rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

However, addressing the incident during the protest, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ika South, called on the state government to intervene, so to ensure that justice is served.
