Driver St@bs LASTMA Official On Attempt To Evade Arrest

On Sunday, 24th September, a commercial bus driver (danfo driver), who’s identity is yet undisclosed, reportedly st@bbed an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Olajide Ojukoya, while trying to evade arrest after going against the traffic rule in Costain, Lagos state.
According to the statement made by LASTMA Public Relations Officer, Adebayo Taofeek, the driver was nabbed after commiting a serious traffic offence around Costain round-about.
Then on his attempt to evade arrest, he st@bbed one of their official with a knife, seeing the level of injur¥ he caused, he stripped naked and this created altercation within the environ.
However, some minutes later policemen from the Iponri police station, arrived to the scene and arrested him for investigation and prosecution.
He further urged both public and private motorist to use of designated bus stops while dropping or picking up people to avoid such incident.
Some Of his statement reads,
“Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority today arrested a driver of a painted Volkswagen ‘T4’ commercial bus (LSR 966 YE) for stabbing a Lastma officer after being apprehended for serious traffic obstruction around Costain round-about, Lagos.”
“Our enforcement team had successfully apprehended the driver despite dangerous driving attempts to escape before he brought out a knife and st@bbed me.
“After seeing the deep cut he had inflicted with the knife, he decided to strip himself naked and caused serious commotions before he was eventually arrested by policemen from the Iponri police station,” Ojukoya stated.
“After his arrest, dangerous weapons – cutlass and knife, were recovered inside his commercial Volkswagen ‘T4’ bus by security officers.
“The government had confirmed that the arrested driver would be immediately prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to other recalcitrant drivers.” He stated.
