Elon Musk Father, Errol Musk Reveals Why He Rejected His Son’s Tesla Car And Will Never Drive It
Elon Musk father, Errol Musk has revealed that he rejected his son’s Tesla car and does not think he will drive Tesla car soon.
While speaking in an Interview with Business Insider Africa, Errol Musk disclosed that in 2022, his son offered him a Tesla car and wanted shipping the said car to his home in South Africa where he lives.
According to him, he rejected the idea of driving a Tesla car in South Africa and does not think he will change his mind soon. He explained that despite the fact that Elon Musk was willing to cover the cost of shipping the car to South Africa, he believes the cost of owning and driving Tesla car in South Africa was too much.
“They weren’t worried about it, but I said ‘Look, it’s just not worth it,'” Errol said.
He added that the absence of Tesla maintenance service in South Africa as well as charging stations are part of the reason he declined the offer from his son
“There’s no service facility here. There’s no Tesla representation yet. “No charging stations. I said, ‘Please, we don’t want to do this.'”
He explained further that he prefers his Rolls-Royce to Tesla car though not because Rolls-Royce is better than Tesla but because it is nicer for him.
“I’ve always had Rolls-Royces, since Elon and Kimbal were babies. I prefer to drive a Rolls-Royce. It’s much better — I mean it’s not better than a Tesla — but it’s nicer for me anyway.”
