Fear Grips Residents As Abducted Poly Deputy Registrar Was Found Dead

Days after being declared missing by residents of Ezeala, in the Umuezeala autonomous community, Mbano Local Government Area of Imo.

The kidnapped Deputy Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, in Ebonyi state, Innocent Obi was found dead on Tuesday ,17th October during search party by the community.

According to the report, the deceased visited his village from Ebonyi state where he based, to attend the burial ceremony of a relative, when he was abducted by unknown individuals at his residence around 10pm.

Speaking on the incident a resident who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the community started combing environ insearch of the deceased, that was how they got an information about a decomposing corpse, they got to the scene and saw it was their brother.

In his words;

“It was Sunday afternoon that we got information about a decomposing corpse lying between Ehime Mbano and Ahiazu Mbaise.

“When our people visited the scene on Sunday, it was the dead body of our brother that we met.” He said.

However addressing the incident, the Imo state police command Spokesperson, Henry Okoye, said that the police was not contacted or briefed on the incident, but he will look into the incident and investigation will be carried out.

While filing this report, no official statement has been released by the polytechnic regarding the incident.
