Hilda Bacci No Longer The Guinness World Longest Cooking Marathon Record Holder
Nigerian born cook, Hilda Bacci has been dethroned from being the holder of the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
The Guinness World Records through its Twitter handle announced that Alan Fisher from Ireland has broken Hilda Bacci’s record by cooking for an additional 24 hours.
According to Guinness world record, Alan Fisher cooked for 119 hours 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.
“Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned 😳Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan 🥄”, the statement by Guinness world record reads.
Hilda Bacci was on June 13th officially recognized by Guinness World Records as having broken the record for the longest hour of cooking by an individual. A record she holds for cooking continuously for 93 hours eleven minutes.
“The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.
Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt”, Guinness World Records.
However, Alan Fisher is said to have broken two cooking related records: one for longest hour of cooking by an individual. And the second, the longest baking record by an individual. A record previously held by an American, Wendy Sandner.
