Impeachment: Investigative Journalist Reveals The Actual Cause Of Governor Sim Fubara Fight With Wike

On 29th of October, 2023, reports have it that fire gutted Rivers State House of Assembly complex following move by the state House of Assembly members to quietly impeach  governor Sim Fubara.

The impeachment move is said be orchestrated by the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike who is the current minister for the Federal Capital Territory.

In a move to thwart his impeachment, Governor Fubara has sacked his chief of staff, Chidi Amadi, his chief security officer, Promise Wosu, and also influenced the removal of the Rivers State House of Assembly majority leader.

According to sources, the feud between governor Sim Fubara and Nyesom Wike resulted from Sim Fubara rebellion against Wike. According to Omotayo Williams, an undisclosed source who is privy to the development, claims that governor Fubara refusal to remit sum of 2billion naira to Wike across two months, is the cause of the feud.

Omotayo Williams claims that it appears intervention from Aso Rock has de-escalated the issue
