“it’s true, I almost k!lled myself in 2020”, Iyanya reveals, says he was accused of stealing a car
Nigerian music superstar, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk has disclosed that he almost committed suic!de in 2020 after going bankrupt.
The popular Nigerian musician while speaking in an interview with actor and podcaster, actor, Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, also known as Taymesan, revealed that he attempted to take his life in 2020.
In his narration, he disclosed that he was embroiled in a lengthy litigation with his former management, Temple Management Company who charged him to court over car theft.
He said the lengthy litigation meant that his income was heavily affected due the fact that the court kept him away from holding music shows as well as featuring in other people’s shows to earn. He sold his house in consequence and moved into a hotel. At a point, he could not pay for his hotel bills and was at the verge of being homeless when the manager of the hotel whom he said his name is “Alaba” mercifully allowed him to live in the hotel for over a year free of charge.
He added that at the end of the litigation with his former management, he was about holding show when COVID-19 lockdown started, plunging him further into bankruptcy.
“I was in that hotel throughout the lockdown. I almost committed suicide. The manager stopped me one time. All of that stuff. Madness, man”, he said.
