Lagos: Passenger Nabbed After Allegedly Stealing N1m Onboard Aircraft

On Wednesday, 3rd August, 2023, Air Peace revealed that a passenger onboard in one of it’s flight was nabbed after he allegedly stole N1 million from another passenger’s bag.
According to Air Peace spokesperson, Mr Stanley Olisa, the incident took place on board Abuja-PHC flight P47192 on Thursday, 27th July, 2023.
He stated that the suspect stole the money which was in a brown envelope, kept inside a passenger’s bag. He then kept bag in another luggage compartment and moved to another empty seat at the back of the plane.
Olisa further revealed that the Suspect who’s name was withheld was caught and handed over to security operatives of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which they transferred the case to the police for further investigation.

“He, thereafter, took the brown envelope containing the money, put the computer bag in another luggage compartment and moved to an empty seat at the back of the aircraft”
“The suspect was eventually caught and the money retrieved from him, with different currencies in different denominations found on him”.
“He was handed over to the security operatives of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), for onward transfer to the Police, for further investigations”.
“The police later confirmed to have released him on bail, but said that the chance of prosecution was slim as the owner of the money was unwilling to follow up”. He said.
