Nigerians React As South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Describes Tinubu As “Illegitimate Nigeria’s President”

A video clip from  South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) which has the Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in centre of discussion, is currently trending on Nigeria’s social media space.

SABC was discussing the most recent military coup that happened in Niger amid Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Tinubu’s ECOWAS leadership barely lasted two weeks before military usurpers seized power in Niger. Bola Ahmed Tinubu had in his inaugural address as the ECOWAS head, vowed that military coup will no longer be tolerated across West African states especially under his watch.

Interestingly, with the leadership of ECOWAS in his hands, a commentator on SABC questioned whether the Nigeria’s president will be capable of halting such an unwanted occurrence in the west African country.

Speaking further, the commentator argues that Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is the head of ECOWAS is at present facing pressure over the legitimacy of his administration especially as his presidential victory remains questionable. The commentator added that Tinubu’s administration is grappling with legitimacy and currently perceived by Nigerians as “illegitimate”.
