In his long awaited media chat, the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike finally revealed this grievances against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) national leadership and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Wike while speaking to the Channels Tv in a live Interview, Wike made several claims about the national chairman of PDP, Ayu Iyorchia who has refused to resign his position despite the intense pressure from the Wike’s camp for him to do so.

Interestingly, among several claims made by Wike against Ayu is his being corrupt. Wike declared that Ayu Iyorchia received a one billion naira bribe from one of the PDP’s presidential candidates which he did not remit to the party’s treasury but rather pocketed.

“A PDP Presidential Aspirant gave Ayu N1billion in Lagos and Ayu did not put the money in the PDP account but his personal pocket. I challenge Ayu to deny this so I can name the person that gave him the money. Oya Ayu back to you, deny it if it is not true”, Wike said.

He further accused Ayu of manipulating the delegates list for the PDP’s presidential primary election so as to favour his preferred presidential candidate. He added that Ayu threatened to resign as the party’s chairman if he (Wike) emerged the presidential candidate of the PDP

“There was nothing Ayu didn’t do. Manipulation of delegates list during the convention. A whole National Chairman threatened some of the presidential aspirants at that time that if Wike wins, he was going to resign.”

He added that Ayu’s decision not to resign is due his sought to become the secretary of the federal government should Atiku win. He added that positions have been shared among members of Atiku’s camp.
“Ayu wants to be in power so that when PDP wins he can be a secretary to the federation. The same thing for Saraki. They have already shared the positions.”
