Obasanjo Reportedly Warns INEC Over Peter Obi

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has reportedly warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over 2023 elections.

Olusegun Obasanjo has tacitly shown support for the presidential ambition of Peter Obi over other presidential candidates including his vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Hence, he appeals to INEC to respect its statutory nature and prevent irregularities in its conduct of February 2023 presidential election. According to him, Peter Obi stands a chance to be elected the president of Nigeria if the election is conducted in free and fair manner.

He further warned that any attempt to thwart the will of the people will be met with utmost resistance from Nigerians who have demonstrated from the historic 2020 EndSARS protest what is likely to happen in a such an occasion.

“Rigging the 2023 General election is like calling for a huge protest that mankind has not seen before. We all saw what happened at Endsars, it will be a play if INEC does otherwise”.

He added:” If Peter Obi win all South East, which I am sure he will effortlessly, then he gets anything above 30% votes in the Northern part of the country and at least a 25% votes in the southwest part of the country”.
