Ogun: Son Chops Off Mother’s Hands During Minor Argument
A 65-year-old woman, identified as Esther, during an argument was attacked by her 30-year-old son, Ayobami Oyeleye, leaving her with deep injuries on her hands, head and legs.
The incident took place on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2023, in Akibo village, the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State.
It was reported that the Suspect had a minor disagreement with his mother, he quickly dashed inside their house, and came out with cutlass which he used in cutting off his mother’s hands, and inflicting deep cuts on her head and legs.
This created altercation within the environ, as other residents rushed out to know what was going on. On getting to the house, they found the woman lying in a pool of blood, with her left and right hands being chopped off, with other deep stabs to her leg and head.
The victim was quickly rushed to the hospital, while the Suspect had been arrested by the state police.
While briefing the press on Wednesday, 4th October, the Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, affirmed that the incident took place. He revealed that the suspect is currently in their custody and investigation was ongoing.
In his words;
“The suspect is now in our custody. Our men visited the scene where the cutlass used to carry out the crime was retrieved. Currently, an investigation is ongoing,” He said.
