Ogun State Government Orders The Recruitment Of 1,000 Teachers, Gives Reason

In a quest to curb the deficit of teachers in Ogun State, The State Governor, Dapo Abiodun on Thursday, 5th October, 2023, approved the immediate employment of 1,000 teachers.

This was made known by the Governor during their 2023 Teachers’ Day celebration in the state capital.

According to Governor, Dapo Abiodun, this will improve the quality of education in the state. He appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers and the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools.

He pledged to gift a two-bedroom bungalow to a teacher, Akeem Badru, for his outstanding performance, as the first African to win the Best Teacher Cambridge Award and announced the cash prize of N1m to N2m, for teachers who put in their best in the profession.

Some his words;

“I’m approving the immediate employment of 1,000 teachers who have distinguished themselves in the Ogun Teach Scheme permanently into the state teaching service, to demonstrate our commitment to reducing the teachers/students ratio in our classrooms and appreciate the support of teachers in the March 18, 2023 governorship poll,” he stated.
