Parents, Students Lament As OAU Announces Increment In Tuition fees

On Wednesday, 13th September, the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, via a report released by their Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, revealed that there will be an increment in their tuition fees from upcoming session.
This is after an emergency meeting was held by the school Senate, on Tuesday, 12th September, 2023.
Olarewaju revealed that new students under the faculty of Law, Arts and Humanities from next academic session will pay N151,200, and the retuning students N89,200.
Newly admitted students under the Faculty of College of Health Sciences and Faculty of Pharmacy are to pay N190,200, while returning students will pay N128,200.
He further revealed that new students under the Faculty of Technology and Science will pay N163,200 and their returning students the sum of N101,200.
In another news, on Wednesday, some students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), staged a protest against the recent increment in their school fees.
This is the second time the students mobilized themselves for the Protest, as they beckoned the Federal Government harken to their plea, by allocating funds from subsidy removal towards education, than allowing institutions increase their fees.
