Peter Obi Speaks On Fuel subsidy, Shares More Hidden Secret

On Monday, 2nd October, 2023, while being interviewed on Arise TV ‘The Morning Show’, the Labour Party 2023 general election presidential candidate, Peter Gregory Obi spoke about fuel Subsidy.

Peter Obi, he described fuel Subsidy in the country as an organised crime to siphon public funds. He revealed that there are criminal side to the policy which will affect the economy.

Some of his words;

“Fuel subsidy is organised crime. I said it repeatedly that it should be removed. For me, the approach would have been, is to remove the corruption and criminal side of it and remove the excess demand.

“By doing this, you would have reduced it by 50 per cent. The remaining 50 per cent is what we would have been able to, after consultation with various stakeholders in order to find a way in an organised manner, remove and show the proceed of the gains of the removal to be invested in critical development areas.” He stated.

In another news, the ex-minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, appeared today the Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London, UK over alleged brib€ry.

Recall, that the ex-minister was earlier charged over recieveing bribes in form of cash, luxuries, flight on private jets and expensive properties in UK before awarding boil contracts to individuals.

During the Court proceedings, her lawyer Mark Bowen told the court that her client would be pleading not guilty to the charges against her.

However, the Judge presiding over the case, Judge, Michael Snow granted Alison-Madueke bail with the following terms; 11 p.m to 6 a.m curfew, an electronic tag to be worn at all times & a 70,000 pound surety to be paid before she could leave the court building today.

The case has been adjoined to 30th October for further hearing at the Southwark Crown Court.
