Police Nab A Member Of Child Traffick!ng Gang In Enugu
On Sunday, 29th October, while addressing the press, The Enugu State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, revealed that on on Friday, October 27, they arrested a member of child traff!cking gang identified as, Ifeanyi Omeke, at Igogoro village in Enugu-Ezike community of Igbo-Eze North L.G.A, of the state.
According to Ndukwe, the Suspect was nabbed at about 1.30 p.m, following the report they got from the complainant, who alleged that the Suspect sneaked into his house in the community and attempted to kidnap a one-year-old girl.
Men of the state police command attached to Igbo-Eze North Police Division, in collaboration with vigilante group in charge of the community was able to arrest the Suspect.
While questioning the Suspect, he affirmed to have committed the crime, he also revealed that he was contracted to kidnap children for ritual and other criminal purpose for a group.
The State police spokesperson, further revealed that the Commissioner of police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has directed that the case should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for further investigation into the matter to aid apprehend other members of the group.
