Borno: Police Nab Staff Of A Popular Bank Over Alleged Murder Of His Wife

A banker identified as, Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, has been nabbed by the police operatives in Borno State, for allegedly murdering his Wife, Fatima Alhaji Bukar, at their residence last week Tuesday.

On Friday, 20th October, while addressing the incident, the state police spokesperson, Sani Shatambaya, narrated how the incident took place.

According to Sani, the incident took place on 10th October around 6:00pm, the deceased husband who claimed to be a staff of UBA BANK, came to the police station (Gwange Division), alongside another man, Bukar Wadiya carrying the corpse of his wife and was clamouring for help.

When questioned to narrate what happened, the deceased husband claimed that he came back from work, and found her wife lying down in pool of bl00d, so he quickly beckoned on Wadiya to assist him bring the deceased corpse to the police station to report the incident.

However, the police police arrested the deceased husband and his friend, Wadiya as a prime suspect as investigation is ongoing.

“On the 18/10/2023 at about 1800hrs one Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim 31yrs went to Gwange Division accompanied by one Bukar Wadiya 39yrs with the body of a woman who the said Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim claimed to be his wife and sought for an emergency help from the police.

“The woman was later identified as Fatima Alhaji Bukar. The husband stated that he is a staff of UBA BANK and came back from work at about 1700hrs and found her lying down in pool of bl00d”.

The husband and one Bukar Wadiya were both arrested as prime suspects.” He said.

The police spokesperson, further revealed that investigation is currently on going to ascertain what actually happened.
