Popular Radio Journalist, Chinonso Uba Arrested By Police

Popular Imo State radio journalist, Chinonso Uba, Also known as ‘NonsoNkwa’ on radio has been arrested by some policemen in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
According to report, the incident took place on thursday morning, 27th July, 2023. Uba was driving home after anchoring his morning programme on Ozisa FM, and he was double crossed by policemen in a Hilux vehicle, an ES 330 car and a Lexus 350 SUV in front of Holy Ghost College Secondary School junction.
Confirming the incident, Rev Fr Raymond Nzereogu, manager of Ozisa FM, while addressing the press Stated that Chinonso Uba was arrested by police.
He further revealed that he went to the state police command headquarters and saw the victim in police custody.
He also revealed that he is trying to ascertain the reason behind his arrest and will ensure he follows up with the case, so that the Uba can gain freedom and reunite with his family.
However, the state police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, affirmed that the journalist was arrested by police from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Force Headquarters in Abuja for an Investigation.
He stated that offence committed by the journalist is not yet known but he will reach out to the Force Headquarters for more information before addressing the press on the issue.
