Ronaldo Speaks On Lionel Messi Winning 2023 Ballon d’Or Over Haaland

Speculations have it that Argentine football superstar, Lionel Messi is the winner of the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

A leaked report claims that Lionel Messi clinched his 8th Ballon d’Or at the expense of Manchester City forward player, Erling Haaland.

The football divides argue over who is more deserving of the prestigious award which recognizes player’s overall performance in a year. With Lionel Messi winning League 1 title with Paris Saint Germaine and also winning the world cup, he is tipped by many to clinch the award. Also, Erling Haaland arguably the second in the pecking order, won a treble with Man City to set off his first season in England.

Ronaldo Rosario however argues that Lionel Messi deserves the 2023 Ballon d’Or due to his fine performance at the 2022 Qatar world cup which undoubtedly led Argentina into winning the tournament.

Ronaldo told TNT Sports that Lionel Messi’s performance at the 2022 world is a replica of Diego Maradona and Pele’s world cup campaigns

“The Ballon d’Or should go to Lionel Messi, without a doubt. What he did at the World Cup was extremely special. It reminded me of the World Cup campaigns of Diego Maradona & Pelé”, he said.
