Singer, Teni Reveals How Her Father’s Death Affected Her Relationship With People

Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata, popularly known as, ‘ Teni’ ,while in a chat with media personality, ‘Taymesan’ revealed how his father was assisnated in the presence of her family and how it affected her relationship with people.

According to the award winning singer, on 8th January, 1995, her father the late Brig. Gen. Simeon Apata (retd.) was assisnated in her presence, when she was just 2 years-old and it affected her by creating strong trust issues with people, even her friends.

In her words;

“You know, him being assassinated in the presence of all of us and all that stuff. I was 2 at the time.

“Him passing away robbed me of a father figure. It sort of made me have trust issues growing up. Because they [gunmen] came into our house purposely to kill him.” She said.

Recall that on 13th September , Teni took to the micro-blogging platform, ‘X’ to draw support for the fight to ensure Mohbad gets Justice after his demise.

She claimed that a sources close to MOHBAD told her that it got to some stage, the late singer told his former boss, Naira Marley and I quote:

“this is getting deeper than I thought o,me I no fit cope again o” that’s when the issues started getting worse… “
