Three Police Inspectors To Face Disciplinary Actions Over Alleged Extort!on

While addressing the press on Sunday, 22nd October, the Ogun state Police Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, revealed that three police inspectors, Paul Sunday, Ikhanorba Lucky and Edwin Ekeogu, will be facing disciplinary actions over alleged engagement in extort!on.

In the viral video online, the three cops were seen extort!ng money from commercial bike riders, and tricyclist around Maawu Bustop, Agbado in the Ifo L.G.A of the state.

According to Odutola, the state Commissioner of Police, is aware of the incident, and has condemned their actions which he tagged to be “Unprofessional”.

He further stated that the state police command is currently carrying out investigation, and will take all disciplinary measure to ensure that the men involved are held accountable for their unprofessionalism.

In his words;

“These officers were caught on camera extort!ng money from commercial motorcyclists in contravention of the Police Act and Regulations. The inappropriate actions of the three policemen were subsequently shared on social media.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has taken note of this incident and strongly condemned the unprofessional act of the men.

“To address this misconduct, the command has activated appropriate disciplinary measures against the erring personnel to ensure that they are held accountable for their misconduct and to serve as a deterrent to others who might be tempted to toe this ignoble path.” He said.
