Just after the conclusion of the ninth AMVCA Awards which was held on Saturday, 20th May, 2023 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

Popular Nigerian actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, stirred up rumors online with her comment after losing an award for Best Actress to her junior colleague, Osas Ighodaro.

The nominees in the category includes;

Bimbo Ademoye for her performance in “Anikulapo,”

Enado Odigie for her role in “Flawsome,”

Nse Ikpe-Etim for her role in “Shanty Town,”

Ini Dima-Okojie for her performance in “Flawsome,”

Scarlet Gomez for her role in “Wura”

However, Osas Ighodaro emerged as the winner of the above category for her role in “Ile Owo,”.

Osas win stirred up reactions online after a Twitter user posted a congratulatory message, eulogizing her for the win. Actress Nse Ikpe didn’t take a chill as she dropped a laughing emoji on the comment section.

Evaluating the reactions by netizens, Many felt that actress, Osas win was undeserving, looking at the performance of other actresses in the category.

Recall, that last year The Reliant News, reported that Osas Ighodaro won the award for Best Actress in Drama for her role in ‘Rattle Snake’.
