“Use Your Position As FCT Minister And Connections To Advance The Progress Of Rivers People And Not To Destabilize Us”, Governor Fubara Tells Wike
The governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara has in a press statement released on his Twitter handle on the 4th of November, appealed to the current minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike to use his position and connections for the progress of Rivers State.
“IT IS THE COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE IMMEDIATE PAST GOVERNOR AND MINISTER OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, HIS EXCELLENCY, CHIEF BARRISTER, EZENWO NYESOM WIKE @GovWike , GSSRS, LIFE BENCHER AND MY HUMBLE SELF, TO LEVERAGE ON OUR POSITIONS AND INFLUENCES WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE STATE TO ADVANCE THE PROGRESS, SECURITY AND WELL-BEING OF OUR PEOPLE..” the statement read in part.
The Rivers State governor thanked president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fatherly intervention as well as some elders in Rivers State whose intervention restored calmness to the state.
The governor further stated that he is objective to ensuring peace in Rivers State as he is a man of peace. He stated that he will do everything to ensure that the state is peace.
“LET ME CLEARLY STATE THAT MY ACTIONS ARE AIMED AT RESTORING PEACE AND STABILITY IN OUR STATE. I AM A MAN OF PEACE AND AS GOVERNOR, THE ADVANCEMENT OF OUR STATE IS MY PRIMARY CONCERN. CONSEQUENTLY, NO SACRIFICE IS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO MAKE TO ACHIEVE THIS OBJECTIVE”.
