Veteran Nollywood actor Fabian Adibe has in an interview with the Cable, praised former governor of Lagos State and presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu for accommodating Ndi Igbo in the Lagos State civil service.

The veteran actor recounted that sectionalism and tribalism has made Nigeria different from what it used to be. According to him, his wife who was in Enugu State civil service in 1997, got sacked over her not being an indigene of the state.

“My wife was sacked in 1997 because she was a non-indigene in Enugu, despite being an Igbo woman from Abia State, married to an Imo State-born man. Back in our days, this wouldn’t have happened. Nigeria was one then.”

Fabian Adibe also disclosed that he quit the Nollywood because of the strange and exploitative doctrine of engagement by movie producers who in most times, hires them for three different movie -roles and pay for only two. According to him, the new trend in Nollywood is termed: “packaging”.
