WATCH VIDEO: Amid Super Falcons Unpaid Bonuses, FIFA Pledges To Pay World Cup  Prize Money To Players Directly

After the match between the Super Falcons and Republic of Ireland, which ended in a draw (0-0).

The Secretary-General of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Ms. Fatma Samoura, told the Super Falcons that FIFA prize money will be paid directly to them.

She revealed this when she visited the nine-time African champions in their dressing room to eulogize them for their performance in the ongoing Women worldcup.

She revealed that it has been tough and that the players had to face the reality of Nigeria and due to this, FIFA for the first time has decided to change their pattern of payment.

In her words;

“It is because of you that for the first time in the history of FIFA, the FIFA women world cup prize money will be paid directly to you, the players,” Samoura said.

However, there are speculations online that due to the announcement by FIFA, Super Falcons might not be paid their bonuses, as all players would receive around £15,760 (AUS$30,000) for participating in the group stage games of the 2023 FIFA Women’s Worldcup.
