WATCH VIDEO: Police Officers Arrested After Being Caught Reportedly Extorting Money From Motorists

On Thursday, 10th August, a video emerged online showing how some policemen was caught and arrested by the speaker of the Osun state House of Assemble, Adewale Egbedun, after they reportedly extorted money from motorists at Osogbo-ede-iwo road, Uyo State.

According to report online, Adewale Egbedun was said to be plying the Osogbo-ede-iwo road, when he saw some crowd gathered round some policemen. He stepped down from his car to ascertain what was going on.

However, resident of the environ and some motorist in the scene, briefed him on what transpired. They revealed that the police officers always position themselves along the road just to extort from motorist.

The Speaker in the video questioned the officer and demanded for their arrest and the money they collected refunded to the Motorists.

Reacting to the incident, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that the officers involved have been arrested and he also stated that the police will never support or tolerate any form of extortion and corruption.

He further cautioned other police officers to abstain from such act and pledged that they will sensitize the system to curb indecency in the system.
