‘Why I didn’t Sign Teni, Simi To Mavin Record’ – Don Jazzy Reveals

Popular Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy, while in an interview expressed regret for not signing Nigerian Singers, Simi and Teni when they were still up coming singers.

The Mavin Record boss, revealed that popular singer, Simi participated in a Twitter contest for the song, ‘Journey of A Thousand Miles’, a record by D’Prince featuring Wande Coal.

Simi dropped a cover for the song, which was very nice and was ranked among the best cover online. He appreciated her work but didn’t sign her

In his words;

“I didn’t reject Simi. I did a Twitter contest for ‘Journey of A Thousand Miles’ ― D’Prince’s record featuring Wande Coal.

“I loved her cover. She was one of the people that participated. She didn’t win, but she was high up there.

“I didn’t pick the winners. I liked her but you can’t sign anybody. That’s one person I also regretted; I won’t say regret, but I wish we worked on stuff together,” He said.

He went further to reveal that he knew Teni before she became popular and they were checking up on each other, but he never thought of signing her and when he thought of that, another fast music record signed her and he regretted it.
