Why I hastily buried my son- Mohbad’s father reveals

As the controversy over the death of Mohbad rages, his father has lately faced backlash from netizens over his inconsistent opinion on the death of his son as well as why his son’s remains were buried “too quickly”.

Recall that a head of a community in Ikorodu recently claimed that Mohbad’s father attempted to bury his remains in the night but for his intervention.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mohbad’s father stated that his decision to bury the remains of his son quickly is in consonant with the Yoruba customs which frown at parents burying their children.

He stated that parents keeping the remains of their dead child for too long  negates the culture of the Yorubas.

“In Yoruba land, his corpse is not the kind to be kept when both of his parents are still alive.

“That land where Mohbad was buried is his only land, that is the only land I know him to have owned”.

He added that the late singer had given him the piece of land he was buried in for him to build his church.
