Wike Gives New Order To His Followers After Meeting Atiku In London

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has reportedly issued a new directive to his followers following his meeting with Atiku Abubakar in London Yesterday.

Atiku Abubakar in his bid to reconcile with Nyesom Wike following the aftermath feud from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election  and determination of the party’s vice presidential candidate, met with Wike in London on 25th of August.

Nyesom Wike one of the aggrieved members of the party is understood to be unhappy over how the PDP’s presidential primary election went as well as how Atiku Abubakar reneged on his promise to make him his running mate.

Consequently, previous meetings between the two parties have failed to restore peace and unite the party members as they look forward to regaining power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2023.

It was reported that Nyesom Wike had given the Atiku’s camp some conditions for his supporting Atiku’s presidential bid; conditions which includes that the current national chairman of the PDP, Ayu Iyorchia must resign for a Southerner to take his place; that Atiku must agree to go for a single term presidency after which a Southerner must take his place.

Interestingly, the internal wrangling has persisted as Ayu Iyorchia, PDP’s national chairman is understood to be obstinate about resigning.

However, one of Nyesom Wike’s ardent supporters on social media who has been very critical of Atiku Abubakar since the onset of Atiku-Wike feud, has revealed through his Twitter handle that Nyesom Wike yesterday, ordered his supporters to desist from attacking Atiku Abubakar or saying anything critical of his presidential ambition.
