Addressing the issue, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, stated that unauthorized programmes is one of the major factor why we have quacks in the profession, exposing public health to danger.
Speaking further he stated that, the nursing department of the institution will remain sealed untill they get fully accredited, and graduates from institutions who isn’t accredited will be denied license to practice in the Nigeria and in any other country of the world.
In his words;
“We have discovered that many institutions, including Harvarde College, offer Nursing degrees to unsuspecting students.”
“Our mission is to clamp down on such institutions because they end up producing quacks in the Nursing profession.”
“This is dangerous for society. Unfortunately, most students are unaware that their time is being wasted”, he said.
