Why I don’t watch football despite being a football fan– Simi

Nigerian music superstar and song writer, Simisola Kosoko widely known as Simi as revealed on her X-account that she is an ardent lover of football.

In a tweet she made in the wake of Nigeria’s semi final match against South Africa at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations, Simi disclosed that she has immense love for football and oftentimes loses her emotions over football event. According to her, she avoids watching football matches because it sometimes makes her uncontrollably emotional.

In the same tweet, Simi revealed that the recent football events, maybe referring to the ongoing AFCON, has rekindled her interest in the game

“I have avoided football, because as a football fan, I’m a noisy nuisance and a menace – but I love the game so much, I think I have woken up the sleeping dog”.
