Court sentences Mama Boko Haram, Aisha Alkali Wakil to ten years imprisonment

Aisha Alkali Wakil other wise known as mama Boko Haram, and two others: Tahiru Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Soyade have been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment.

Mama Boko Haram and two others were convicted of fraud worth 40 million Naira.

In a statement released by the spokesperson of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Dele Oyewale the trio were convicted on Monday by Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, having been prosecuted by the commission for conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of 40million Naira.

The statement released by Dele Oyewale reads: “The convicts’ journey to the correctional centre began when a petitioner alleged that they swindled him through a purported contract for the supply of five x-ray machines 1900 with solar energy to a non-governmental organisation, Complete Care and Aid Foundation, worth N40m. They neither supplied the machines nor returned the contract sum to the petitioner.”
