Police Nab Lagos Driver For Crushing Minor To Death
On Sunday, 3rd March, a 69-year-old commercial bus driver identified as, Waidi Saheed, was arrested by the police after he crashed a 10-year-old boy, Chukwudi, to death at the Iganmu-Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos State.
According to report, the incident took place at about 8:30 a.m, as the driver who was on high speed, crushed the deceased who was standing atop a culvert around Doyin bus stop with his father.
It was revealed that when some police rushed to the scene to arrest the driver and evacuate the corpse of the deceased, they were attacked by some hoodlums with stones and bottles.
Immediately other police patrol teams arrived the scene as backup, they were able to disperse the hoodlums.
The state police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, affirmed that the incident took place and revealed that corpse had been deposited in morgue at the Yaba General Hospital, while the perpetrator and his vehicle is currently under their custody.
He said;
“The corpse has been taken to the morgue at the Yaba General Hospital. The driver was later arrested, and the accident vehicle is in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
