Prominent Nigeria Afro hip hop singer, Yemi Alade whose scintillating performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations opening ceremony last month, earned her accolades across continents, has cautioned Nigeria political class against visiting Super Eagles before the AFCON final match on Sunday.

Yemi Alade through her X-account warmed the Nigeria political class against handshaking Super Eagles Players before the AFCON final match against the host nation, Cote D’Ivoire on Sunday. According to her, handshaking the players before the match might imply transmitting ill-luck to them.

Her warning comes barely a few hours after the news that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will no longer visit Cote D’Ivoire to cheer the Super Eagles of Nigeria to victory over Cote D’Ivoire. Reports say the vice president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima who also watched super Eagles semi-final match against South Africa, will lead a delegation of Nigerian leaders to Cote D’Ivoire necessary to motivate players into winning the 2023 AFCON tournament.
